Just got back from florida :)
Man I had a blast! It was an expensive trip with gas prices being what they are but I met some really cool people including Jesus Padilla (kilo racing) who was a very cool guy that is tuning my car as well as finnishing a few things here and there on the car. While I was at his shop ken sheepers just happened to be there and was nice enough to show me his motor and answer any questions I had about it.
The last day of the trip we took a ride over to Indio's shop. Indio was a very nice guy who didn't mind answering questions and showing off his car. Anyways just thought I'd share some pics and a story with you guys and hopefully with a bit of luck I'll be tearing up the streets soon enough
Me and a buddy pushing the car onto the dolly

"don't **** with the car or I'll bite you"

Me and my sister at about 3am when we finally made it to florida

My car and a couple first gens at kilo's shop

me and ken looking at his car

sleep deprived retarded looking me, my budy and Indio standing around his car

Cool pics..... Kilo is a very welcoming guy to anyone that visits his shop..
There are lots of things to see & do in Orlando, I hope you maximized your gas money by doing other things

oh I couldn't say enough about everyone I met down there. Very cool people with a wealth of knowledge and a love for rotaries that I just don't see down here in v8 territory.

The whole time I was out there I didn't see a beach so that will change next being that my little daughter loves the beach

I brought the car in on saturday morning and left florida late monday evening. By monday kilo said that he had gotten the car running correctly, the problem I was having was in the map I had put on it. I was having a big blow by issue because of this and it was freakin' me out thinking there was some sort of side seal issue (same problem I had with my last rebuild) but he said it being so rich was causing the blow by so that was another piece of good news. He still has to dyno tune it and finish up with the exhaust and a few other things and then in the next 2 weeks or so I'll be taking the long *** trip back to Orlando and Tampa all over again. Hopefully since the car will be done I'll be able to bring it to one of the tracks down there
As soon as I get dyno numbers I'll let ya know. I won't be expecting too much though being that he isn't going to take it over 20psi...

We started the trip at 7:00pm and didn't get to Orlando till about 10:00am the next morning and went straight to Kilo's to drop off the car. Then we drove about another hour to Tampa, checked into a hotel, went to eat, went to a cool *** Reggaetón/salsa club and dirty danced (
) with some of the local girls and got sloppy drunk. We ended up getting back to the hotel at about 3:30 in the morning and finally went to sleep. It was a long first couple of days to say the least. My sister was a trooper though and drove about 11 hours that first night so that was pretty damn cool. The trip in all honesty is not fun but the resulting end product more than justifies the means

I never thought I would ever say that but you're right, 500 +or- will be fun! After all, in my small town I could have gotten away with a stock rx7 and could have beaten 90% of the competition down here, rofl.

They really are. If I didn't know better I would never have guest Kilo, Indio, and Ken were some of the top names in the game. They are all just real cool down to earth people.
Yeah, your sis is a trooper driving 11 hours.
I couldn't agree more that the trip isn't really what matters, its the end product. I've taken some drives to Garland that I really didn't want to, but I knew they had to be done.
Thats one of the great things about living in Houston: the competition is tough out here. There are plenty of 12, 11, and 10 seconds cars that roll around. Big hitters like 1000rwhp Supras, Vipers, and Vetts, really keep little guys like me chasing that rabbit. You should take a ride down here one weekend. Sat nights are very fun.

I've wanted to hang out in Houston one night to see all the rides they have there. Last time I went to Dallas to bring my car to Steve khan they had tons of fast imports. In fact there were so many imports in Dallas there was like 3 or 4 different hang out spots filled with not just riced out cars like in my town but actual tuned cars with lots of money put into them. Here, not so much... I might take you up on that offer one of these days
