IFO: Columbus, OH - Anyone going?

A few of us from Indy are venturing over to Columbus next weekend to run in the Import Face-off event. We are just over 200 miles away so we get our entry fee covered. Should be a good time, who else is in?

Ryan told me you were going to have a booth. We'll definitely be around.

Hey Jon,
Are you competing in "forced induction pro" or forced induction sport"?
Do they consider our ET streets as a slick?
It's dot legal...

I'm seriously considering this.

From what i've heard the ET streets will be able to run in FI sport since they are a dot legal tire. That's the class i'm planning to run. I've got a brand new set sitting in the garage just waiting for the wheels to come back from the powdercoater.

It would probably get a lot faster cars in attendance if they allowed slicks. Not too many fast imports run drag radials.

Maybe thats why they lost the street class quick 8/16 class name. But if its a street class it should not be slicks. Either way I am ordering some welds and slicks to go after a NPB.

I qualified 5th in the Forced Induction Pro class and came in Runner-up. I got beat by a 9 second race car dsm, lexan windows, some drag auto tranny (glide maybe), chute mount, so i wasn't too pissed about taking second.

Here is an in-car vid of my best pass of the day. That S2000 that i was running ended up running back to back 10.20s during eliminations. He is a friend of mine. Its a full street car, A/C, p/s, and running drag radials to boot.

Also, Tony has good news too, but i'll let him post.

eh...

I got put in "Forced Induction Sport" because I talked the techs into it.
Since I'm the only one that drove my car 3.5 hours there on Mickey Thompsons and skinnys.
I qualified 1st in my class, but lost in the final round against a wrx.

I'm just a bad driver.
My best 60ft. was a 1.71.

It was still a lot of fun.
I got in for free and won $100 for 2nd place, so it was definitely worth it. (I secretly wanted a trophey so bad!!!)
It just costed me gas, food, and a turbo oil seal.

I was really surprised that there were so many FDs there.
Although they didn't race.

Darren in the DSM is a nice guy but gay for racing a full out drag car in a street class. Seems IFO's new rules only support him more. That car needs to be in the correct class. Congrats to you guys..

Thanks Mike.
I thought that DSM belonged in the outlaw class, but I'm just a hater.

I saw the white eclipse run a 9.80. He ran a 9.9 against me in the finals. The conquest was running consistent 10.3s. He got knocked out by my friend with the s2k.

He ran a 9.47 in KCIR and 9.7 in Houston. IFO is coming to KCIR this weekend, will update results.

Thanks! Racing in competition is so much more fun than just going out for test and tune.

IFO in KCIR, the eclipse ran a 9.50 and lost to Nelson's rx3 which run 9.29. The blue rx2 broke his tranny on the 1st qualifying so let's hope we have a good turnout in Tulsa like we just did at KCIR.
