If you were going to set up classes for a street car event?

How would you set them?

A local forum i'm a part of is holding a drag event in the spring and we are trying to set up the classes. There is some confusion on what the classes should be. There will be all types of vehicles there, rwd, fwd, rotaries, 4, 6, 8, 10, awd, imports and domestics and power adders everywhere. There probably won't be any cars slower than a 13 second that attend.

What kind of classes would you set up to include everyone to keep it as fair as possible. You don't have to be very detailed, just a general overview. There will probably be 100-150 cars racing.

Also, if anyone would like to attend, it will be at US41 in Morocco, IN. PM me if your are interested.

Thanks!

Separate by turbo size. Street classes would have 2 turbo sizes, up to 70mm for one class and 70-74mm for another street class and over 74mm another class.

Check out how MIR did their event, I like the rules there.

Turbo size wouldn't really work because not everyone is turbo, there will be many V8s, some spraying, some not, some supercharges. A little of everything.

This is one of the ideas:

4 cyclinder power added - all turbo/super/nitrous 4 cyclinders, both front and rear drive, includes rotary

6 cyclinder power added - same as 4, but v6/i6

N/A 6 and 4 - self explaintory

AWD - same as 4 power added but awd

Pony Car - All N/A V8s, geared towards fbodys, mustangs, vettes, gtos, etc

True Street - Any thing goes, but must be DOT tires and no tubs

Quick 8 - run what ya brung, car must be plated.

There are some holes, like it doesn't make sense to put fwd and rwd together in 4 power and 6 power, it would make more sense to have the rwd with the awd. Also, technicially a C6Z06 and vipers would be in pony car, but they should probably be in true street, but maybe not.

What do you guys think? I'm definitely open to ideas.

Do you have a link to the MIR event?
