I slip the clutch very easy
best 60 ft when i smoked the clutch was a 1.47


am looking to buy a tilton clutch for a fd tranny

i think i use the push type clutch with tilton hydraulic release bearing??

apex seals are the unbreakeble ones from australia
not the pts seals but some other ones for half the price
guys any input for a tilton clutch

 

I love my Tilton clutch but I'm not running a FD trans. You could always switch to a FC bellhousing and use a traditional slave/fork setup.

i was thinking on that
swapping to a turbo 2 bell housing and use tiltons hydraulic release bearing
but for what application i order the tilton clutch
i called them today they said noting for a rx7!

 

All you need is-

Tilton 7.25 twin disc clutch with the Mazda spline.
TII bellhousing, throwout fork, throwout bearing, and slave cylinder.
Flywheel for tilton clutch.


It would be cheaper to buy a used clutch off eBay. You can pick them up for around $200. Then buy a brand new set of discs (Mazda spline) for about $200 and get a flywheel (i paid $450 for mine). So for $850 you have an absolutely bullet proof setup.

 

WELL i just got of the phoone with tilton
they said fidanza sells of the shelves fly wheel for what clutch i get from them
the only thing am trying to figure out is the hydraulic release bearing

 

Like said all stock t11 parts no need for the tilton hydrolic throw out setup. The t11 is a push style.

 

Slipping puck clutches will smoke them in no time. They dont' like to be slipped and will overheat very fast and grenade.

Exactly. The only non factory part you need is the clutch and flywheel, everything else will be factory Mazda parts.

Tilton clutches DO NOT like to be slipped. They will digest themselves within a few passes if you try and slip them. It would be better to do a boost by gear and leave at less boost or run the tires at a little higher pressure so it will slip the tires a little at the launch.

a new tilton clutch my price is like $700 + the fidanza flywheel
I finished installing the new clutch in there last night till 3 am
just the act extreme and 6 puck with spring
the other clutch lasted like a year but at less power, lets see how long this wil
i do have the 2 stage boost controller
if this clutch holds up like 6 months I i will just stick with this
how much power you think is good power to launch with with out breaking?????
for the 2 boost stage I wanna have like 700hp and will be activated with a digiset


my engine is a bridge port, made by c west racing in pr, jullio illanas
engine is been up and running sincejuly last year , gaby skern tuned it last aug on pump gas, just added some boost and fuel

 

Those Puerto Rican's are brilliant at extracting huge amounts of power out of the 13B.

What I wanted to know was what brand of apex seals were used in the build, since you mentioned it was not PTS.

 

I hope you guys know that you simly just can't swap a T2 bellhousing onto a FD trans because the input shaft is much longer.

 

If thats a stock diff its not gonna take long to look like this. Nice pass BTW.

 

The 'rally' type which has the thicker pads on the clutch disc normally takes the slipping a lot better. If you can afford it the way to go would be with the carbon clutch setup. It will take all the abuse and slipping that you need not to mention much less shock on the drivetrain.
