Came across a deal that I couldn't pass up. It needs some cleaning and TLC but as is, it runs its *** off. It weighed in at only 2100 LBS !! And that's before I'll put it on a diet !!
You guys will need to teach me about 1st gens, I don't know anything about them !
The car currently has a Borg Warner S361 on it, but it's for sale along with the manifold etc. etc. I'm going to buy a S475 and use that instead.
The car was originally built for road racing, the rearend is all Mazdacomp. Apparently the previous owner paid $2,000 for that rearend to be built. Anyhow, it's being pulled out this weekend and put up for sale.
I'll start the Minitub this weekend, going to run a 28/10.5/15W tire out back. QA1 Coilover Kit, QA1 3/4 X 3/4 Rod Ends, Chris Alston 4 Link Kit, Moser 4.57 Gear, Moser Spool, Moser Axles, Blah Blah Blah.
Anyhow, I just want to play around on the street and have some fun.

I changed out the oil cooler tonight, it was leaking a little. I'm going to take it for a spin tommorow before I break out the sawzaw and grinder.
It should be a fun little toy.

They pulled off the gas tank straps and welded a bracket to that.
You know what's funny, I fit better in this car than my old 3RD GEN

hi i got also the same car 1985 GSL-SE, I goin to use 26x10 with the stock chassis, 8.5 chevy rear end. The stock set up on the back on your car is already a 4 link(watts linkage) , the only thing you need to upgrade are the bars with 3/4 rod ends and chromoly tubes. this set up is being use in Puerto Rico and they run 9 sec. and 10 sec.

My new brackets were finally cut this morning !
When I originally bought the Chris Alston 4 Link Kit, they came with a 3 Inch OD Holes. Well, I'm running a 8.8 Ford which has 2.8 Inch OD Holes do that wasn't going to fly. You can see the gap from the pictures.
I found someone out in California that's building some wicked cars. I let him know that I need my brackets duplicated but I need the hole smaller. I also had him keep the same Chris Alston geometry but add Shock Mounts and holes for a Stabilizer Bar.
