Hoosier drag radials

Do any of you drag racers have any experience with Hoosiers drag radials?
I currently have MT 275-40-17 drag radials but can't get better than a
1.9 sec 60ft if I launch at 5000rpm I bog down, if I launch at 6500-7000 rpm I spin way too much. There seems to be no inbetween with the MT drag radial, you either bog or spin. I have been running a tyre pressure of 16psi. I'm now convinced that the side wall is a bit too stiff and does not aid wall wrinkle.
I have found that Hoosier do a new drag radial, that rather looks more like a slick. I will be ditching my 17 inch wheels which feel quite heavy and going back to stock 16 inch rims. I plan on buying the hoosier 255-50-16 drag radials but just want to find out from any of you guys if they are any good, and if it will help with my bad 60ft due to bogging or spinning.
There are guys here in the UK running same 1/4 mile time as me 11.3 @120mph
with 1.5 & 1.6 sec 60ft, i'm running 11.3 @132mph with 1.9 sec 60ft. If I could get the same 60ft times as my rivals I should be running mid 10s.

If your already ditching the 17” combo and heading back to stock rims out back, go with Mickey Thompson ET street slicks, (not the drag radials) you’ll want 26 x 10.5 x 16 their like $173 a piece form Jegs or summit. Wait just noticed your in the UK don’t know if they ship intl, but either way you should be able to click off 1.50 w/o a problem, Dan (www.jigsawrx7.com) has gotten down to 1.36 60’

Although their DOT approved, I wouldn’t drive any more than to a close local track. If you can’t have a dedicated wheel combo for the track, get the radials but you should start looking for a Diff …B/c the stock torsen wont like to many hard launches, especially on some radials

I agree the et street's work better. but i run the 26/11.50/16. My first run with these tires but 10.50's was 1.52 with 7000. rpm launch. Might want kass or t11 diff. as they are stronger. Good luck. You might rethink 10.5 if your 60 ft is better your mile per hour might be lower! But you for sure have a good running car post your times after tire replacement.

There are a few Mickey Thompson dealers here in the UK so I can get their
products no problem. Thanks for advise and I will post time difference once I go back to the strip.

The Hoosiers hook great, but they dont last long at all. I have a spool in my car, and I drove around town on them. They probably lasted an honest 50 miles before the centers wore down on them and they stopped hooking. They wrinkle though.

That's 200 runs down the drag strip looking at in that sense that's not bad.
However looking at it on the road and after only 50 miles the centers are worn down is a disgrace, unless your 50 miles was 50 miles worth of burnouts lol.

Hoosier drag radials are the new rave down here. Our class must run on drag radials, and the hoosier are better than mickey thompson, bfs, etc,,,, My best 60ft on MT drag radials was 1.7. I have seen similar cars with hoosier cuttin 1.5.

The hoosier walls are soft like a slick tire. We called them the drag radial cheater. Recommend.

Not sure why you brought this back from the dead but BFG's have proven to be the best and laid down many records for the radial tires!

There are some 10.5 cars running BFG's also. Things may have changed in the last year or so but I know there was a time that BFG's were the **** with 10.5 boys. But we are talking serious cars here.
