Hks tranny

Are these the same as a gforce or can these be shifted down as well?

Up and down shift with a H pattern shifter. The ratios are WWAAAAAAAY off for drag racing though.

Is there a clutch less tranny that can be down shifted? I am guessing no or not suitable for drag racing or others would be using.

I am not changing for awhile but just interested. I am leaning towards a auto set up so I can still drive on streets.

The clutchess transmissions can be downshifted but they can not decelerate/engine brake. Most clutchless transmissions are like this. I don't know if the planetary style (lenco) can decel.

We don't seem to be having to much trouble running street driven cars into the low 9's with a stock rs final drive over here

Pretty tough boxes but parts for them ain't cheap

you can get straight cut gears from Liberty and buy a IKEYA shifter with stock FD Tranny.......cheaper than buying an HKS.

This Rx7 has up and down Ikeya shifter with stock tranny....

This nissan drift car has DOG gears with the same shifter...

Saw one of these on eBay a week ago. Video shows some slow *** shifting. Besides being 3 feet tall.

I was more curious if ther was a clutch less tranny that was street friendly, downshifts and decels. I have a faceplated fd tranny by liberty now with a Gated shifter so shifts are fast. I am still leaving some et on the table every time I bang that clutch pedal.

I knew guys were road racing the his tranny which requires ups and down shifts so was curious if one could drag the unit.

Never thought about straight cut gears on the fd tranny. Would it hold up?

I talked to Paul at Liberty about straight cut gears specifically for the strength. They are noisey but strong.

Would you still have to clutch it?

I was under the impression the factory casing is still the weak point.

This is right as well, but more in case of FC boxes.
