You're probably not going to find much help here in the drag forums. Drag trannies are not setup for the racing(if that's what you wanna call it) that you are doing. JK If your looking for something semi economical than you might want to try a t5 or just keep tossing TII trannies in it. Those should hold up pretty well as long as you don't abuse them too much.

a t5 tranny would take the abuse and its the cheapest solution.. im currently setting one up for jeff jones, since he had the same problem. for some reason the drift cars kill the turbo 2 tranys quickly.

Your best bet is a PPG or Guru or Quaife gearset. Quaife being the cheapest and easiest to get.

I think he said economical .

T5 is a Ford/ mustang trans. and I've seen mustangs going 8's with this trans.

The Quaife should set you back about $4500 and the gear ratios are setup for road racing as are the PPG and Guru, but they are twice as expensive.

Not in an economical version.
A stock T5 is actually no stronger than a turbo mazda box when used for drag racing. The T5 in stock form got some weak points also where the Mazda ones shines. For Drifting it might be a tronger box in design.
For road racing and light drag use{high 8's) I've been using the G-Force T5 with great success. A cheap alternative to everything else out there. Also placing a T5 in a rx-7 chassis is going tp put the shifter way forward. There are tail housings that can place it close to the stock position and also using different input shafts with custom adapters which are all not cheap or economical conversions.

get a t-56 case and the g-force straight-cut gearset. They claim it can handle 800 ft-lbs. of torque, and its some $2500 for the set.

friend of mine used to use G-force stuff in his camaro (low 9's car)
gave up after breaking **** EVERY TIME he went to the track. I think he has a transmission built by livernois gear in detroit now, and hasn't broken it in over a year.

What fluids are you guys using? I have broken several transmissions over the years (turbo rx7 trannies and now more recently in my skyline) and have to say that the "Redline Shockproof Heavy" 75w250 seems to really help out with reliability. The skyline trannies have a weak 3rd gear too but this fluid has kept mine alive so far.
