DIY $3.69 adjustable MSD 2 step chip

http://home.comcast.net/~dragrace/cdrt-tech.html

That tells the resistance levels of the chips. I looked it up and blasted off to radio shack and picked up a package of 5.6 k resistors for 99 cents which I bent the leads to keep tension and slipped it in the chip ports. I tried it, and it slammed against the rev limiter at 7000rpm. Then I bough a 0-5k potentiometer for $3.29. I used the 3000rpm chip value to get a baseline to start at. After every pass last night I would come around, turn on the ohm meter and turn the potentiometer up or down depending on what i was trying to do (mostly down, I couldn't get my pos to quit spinning ) it works flawlesly. I still have the packages at work, and I'll post up part numbers when I get back from cleaning up the mess I left all over the place yesterday. I just thought that some of you guys could use this info.

The resistor part# is 271-1125 5.6k-ohm resistors.

The potentiometer is a 0-5k

That guy runs at our track and is fun to watch. He has pvc pipe for his intercooler piping, he busted a hole in it and patched it with a pop can. Hes called hillbilly but hes not dumb and his cutlass is damn fast!
