All Motor Shootout

This December at NSCRA, there are plans for an all motor shoot out. So far there are 8 cars confirmed(4 hondas, 3 VWs, and 1 Rx-7 ) including Jeremy Lookofsky and Norris Prayoonto. If you know anyone that would be interested in going let me know to discuss this! Entry is 1,000 and NSCRA rules apply.

Good luck and damn-1k entry? That's going to be a good payout. You guys on the East coast have the good life. Lucky bastards.

Hey Kilito, shouldn't it be two rx7's and one Datsun?

Datsun and 13b Rx7 cannot compete with Norris's new car... Kilito's 3 rotor is the good match for the Hondas

Sounds good though. Anthony, Roan, and myself will be making the trip down with plans on racing as well.

Tell me about it. I got Honda's running 9.17's @ 150+mph! And we are not allowed to run a 3 rotor. So tell me how I can compete?

Its 1k entry because the entry money is going to be used to make the Pay-out. 8 cars = 8,000. 1st 5000, 2nd 2500, and Semi 500. The more cars, the more pay out. The Datsun and Rx-7 aren't up to par to compete with those guys.. yet. There have been plans to cut up the Datsun, but who knows.

Thats what I'm thinking. I'm shooting for the number 1 spot and my dad is too so we will see what happens..

I am driving both cars now. I am getting used to this whole turbo thing. Let me tell you - from a 1.31 to a 1.18 60' might not seem much on paper, but damn it sure as hell is!

Norris is running the same numbers from what I'm told - OR what he tells me. Who knows though, I think he has been sand baggin.

C'mon Eric, you know that's top secret in the all motor world. Besides, you and I already know the kind of power he's making with the trap speeds.......... alot more than you and me.

ALOT!

Depends on what engine they use. Just go to the event website and check out the rules. It's different for each event holder. In my class the all motor stock chassis. We have to weight 1950lbs. That's with a 13bpp and clutchless trans.
Honda's are allowed to weigh 1750 with full tube chassis. Rear wheel drive cars are not allowed to run tube chassis and have to retain factory floorpan and suspension mounting points. Honda's can pretty much do whatever they want if they cry enough.

Its not all about the most power, Its about a combination, tuning, traction, gear ratios, keeping the car at peak power, slipping the clutch, the driver and the most important thing "testing at the track"

That's true Jose, but we're not talking 1000hp here. It's not that hard to get 350hp to the ground. There's only so much power a N/A rotary can make with the parts we have today and guys like Padilla have pretty much tapped that out. After all his 9.8 has stood for how long now? The only way we can compete with these Hondas is to either put weight in their cars or be allowed to take weight out of our cars. Look at the PR all motor cars that are running 9.5's. They are running those numbers because they weigh 1700lbs and have back half car running 1.20 60ft. They're not making any more power than anyone else, look at their trap speeds at only 133mph. It's light weight and gearing getting those numbers.

It's not top secret. We really haven't been to the dyno. My father's car has seen dyno and never reached 400. His car put down 38X and ran 9.80 @ 134.8 weighing at 2000 lbs. My car now weighs 2145 and ran 9.42 @ 139. Trap don't mean much. I'd estimate 450.

2 rotor 1650 minimum weight.

4 cyl 1550, 1650, or 1750 depending the size of the engine.

Rules can be found on the NSCRA website at www.nscra.com

You can weigh as light at 1550 because you are running pump gas.

THey have allowed us to take weight out, but right now we just don't have the funds for that.

Kilito, we don't have the NSCRA on the West Coast. I wish we did. We have the IDRC and BOTI. The rules are alot different than NSCRA. We have to weigh 1850 with stock trans. or 1950 with clutchless and are not allowed to run a 3 rotor and not allowed to use a tube chassis. Floor pan has to be stock and stock suspension mounting points. There are more weight penalties for methonal and no tubbing allowed. The NSCRA rules are wide open. You guys have it made over there. Man, I should move to the East coast. Just can't deal with the cold weather and hurricanes.

this is drag 7 i have one question how do you get a rx7 down to 1650 with driver because my car has everything out of it and it still weighs 1980 with me in it and i am 175 pounds the only way we are going to be able to do it is with a different car that will not be legal in ca to race in all motor

That is not true because I raced my car here at BOTI and my car is a back half and it is 3 rotor.
