There's nothing wrong with your a/f gauge. No reference on your fuel pressure regulator will do that.
And running that lean will spit and sputter just like it did for you...

And you can thank ethanol for saving your motor. No need to open anything if it's still running fine...

This is why it is a good idea to run a EGT sensor as well as the AFR so that if you have a weird reading you can justify it with both sensors.

I think you missed my point. I was just pointing out your sensor may be going bad. Wasn't saying you didn't go lean, but I highly doubt you went in the 16's under boost, no matter the gear.

since my boost reference hose was bad i think that it went too lean fast enough to act like an inj cut because the engine shut down pretty fast, sputter in the exhaust and as enzo said my fuel saved my ***... if AFR's would have stayed in the 13-14 for a longer period of time in higher gears my engine would have been fried at this point..

car is running fine, no track time this year so far... hopefully in september!!
