i have been looking online and searching on here. all i am finding is lots of miss interpretations and back and for debates.

right now i am running apexi ecu what i am looking to do is have a system to spool right off the line and also be able to shoot flame holding idle and a designated point

any recommendations on what unit to get wold be great

im sure i will catch flak about this

this is a unit i found online but in my searching on here a member said this will not work with rotaries. can someone shed some light on this and if u wold recommend it or not?

Ok first thing SEARCH, there’s a quite a few great threads in this section alone.
2 Step and-launch control are interchangeable terms, proly coined by MSD, which lets you have a Staged rpm limit, I.E. 2 rev limiters, one for max rpm, 1 for staging.
Anti Lag is something rally cars use between shifts,

IIRC the New MSD 6al boxes have ones that have a 2 step built in. If not get a Dis-2
Easy way is to set up the 2 step off the clutch switch with a master arm switch, this when active (foot on clitch) lets power activate the lower-aka staging rpm, but with your foot on the floor the ECU is still sending fuel trying to raise RPM, hence the backfiring and flames.
Cheapo way is 1 box on the Leadings with factory leading coil, and wire it so it shuts off trailing coils when active,
Right way is to have RPM limit on all ignition channels, and through a Aux input on the ecu , retard timing and add fuel.

I’m going to comment on your request to have flames shoot out of the exhaust, it’s a byproduct caused by the purpose, its hard on the engine and turbos, loud and not setup properly can kill motors, I hope you have a substantial single turbo system that requires this as most of us drag racers do, not just to look like a tool in front of your friends.
