10.80 and still a long way to go
i have been trying to finish building this car four years now. i have had the car to the track for three "productive" weekends in the past few months.first weekend11.90 second weekend 11.30yesturday10.80and i still have a long way to go.the guy who started building this car he wanted to drive it on the street.he put a limited slip diff in the rear end.i drive the crap out of this car on the street.i think the limited slip is done.on the 10.80 pass the front end came up and carried the wheels for about 10 feet forward,in this ten feet the car moved to the right about a foot .i had a race car buddy record the pass, you can see plain as day the right tire leaving a black patch.the car went 1.44 60 foot, should have been like a 1.40-1.39 i think.for the couple of times out with the "bucket" it leaves good and will get much better.6.79@98 half track and 10.86@118. this is at about 14-15psi boost and nosing over as you can tell by the mph.i am getting better with my haltech E8 but still along way to go.my rear end gear is a 4.11,i have 28x11.5x15 tires.the transmission is a ford C4 transmission with a low 2.92 first and a 1.62 second gear.5500 stall Neal chance torque converter.i know my tune up is still wrong but, what do you guys think about the rear end gear with the tire size?should i go lower say like 4.88 or 5.00.in case you were wondering it has an fd engine and the rear end spool is already sitting on my shelf.

Chris, congrats on the 10 second pass. I know your car has way more in it.
Regarding the rearend ratio. At what rpm are you at when you cross the finish line? Generally you want to be at or almost at redline at finish line or close to your peak hp rpm. YOu got two weeks to get your car ready for IDRC.

getting better
went to California speedway fontana yesterday.it was "f"ing hot 100+!!!!!!since last time i have posted on this i have upgraded my fuel system with an aeromotive eliminator fuel pump and another set of 1600 cc injectors.i have four 1600cc injectors now.i am on E85.i still have the 4.11 gears in the rear end.my best pass of the day was at 12:00pm at 100+degrees stupid hot.i had turned up the boost to 19psi removed about 0.3ms of fuel from my Friday night freeway dyno session (it was about 30 degrees cooler Friday night).my EGT's were at about 1650 on this pass.i gave it a few degrees of ignition advance.now at 19 pounds of boost i am at 25 degrees advance at 8000 rpm with the trailing at 20 degrees split across the board.at 19 psi from 4000 rpm my ignition timing is at 20 degrees then advances to 25 degrees at 8000 rpm.here are some numbers 1.442 60 foot 6.685 1/8th @101.74 1/4 mile 10.576@124.81.it is getting better but still a half of a second from my first goal 9.99.if you see any thing or would suggest something i would appreciate your input.

not much weight left
if you have not seen this car in person there is not much left.the only thing left i can take out of this thing are the front, rear and door windows and replace them with plexiglass.i have a aluminium passenger seat i could take out and that is it.the car weights 2020 pounds with 1020 on the front axle and 1000 on the rear.i would have tried a 15 degree split at the track Saturday but it was hot. 10.50's was good enough for the day and had a party i had to go to.still unsure of this rotary engine ignition timing some say i run to much timing while others say i am right were i should be.i had ran a vw air cooled turbocharged engine with 28 psi of boost.i had the distributor locked out.the timing was at 24 degrees.i also squeezed a 75 shot of nitrous.i know a rotary is totally different.i amwith this ignition timing thing.i will get it soon.

I would recommend renting out a dyno, you will be able to tune quicker and more precise than the old 91fwy butt dyno. LOL

Sounds like you are making the best or close to it with the amount of power its making. You know how it is.. there are always a few things to do and pull a few .100's out of it but I am far from being the one to shed the light. Cant imagine besides lexan the weight is going down much more.

sounds like you had a good time man...... you should get someone to take some video. I'd like to see some footage of you laying the smack down on the street

hay tony94s4 wouldn't you like to know?i am not like that, first of all i need to tell you that i am running E85 fuel.not sure what type of fuel you are running?i had added 2 degrees advance across the positive manifold pressure side of my ignition map.so at 19 psi boost i am at total advance of 27 degrees @ 8000 rpm. in my ignition map at 19 psi of boost @ 3000 rpm i am at 22 degrees and advance the timing as rpm goes up to 27 degrees at 8000 rpm.as for my afr's i am not sure my 5 wire O2 sensor stopped working.i had tuned from my egt's for the last couple of times to the track.in my haltech E8 i had adjusted my fuel injector trims to even out the exhaust gas temps.i have two egt gauges.my egt probes are about 2 inches from the exhaust ports.i have talked to some guy with a second gen turbo2 and he had said on good race gas his total advance at 8000 rpm is at 28 degrees.so if he is at 28 degrees and i am at 27 degrees on E85 i think i could give it a few more degrees.now this is what i have done.if you are tuning your own car proceed with caution.this ignition tune up is what is working on my car.this could very well damage someone else's engine.this is not a recommendation.if you would like i can e-mail you my haltech E8 tune up.you could use this as a comparison to what you have.maybe my tune up is all wrong but 10.44 @ 126 with the car going on the trailer under its own power at the end of the day is a good thing.

its definitely a good thing,
I am on e85 also but my timing is nowhere near that,
I am running 26x11.5 et streets and full fd touring weight,
not sure if i run more weight do i need to run less timing or
that has nothing to do with it,
I am very glad u share ur detailed tunning here,
have hard time finding timing tunning info with e85 so I stayed
conservative 1 or 2 degree more then pump gas,
I am also surprised that u can tune more timing with e85 than
race gas
thanx

irwindale 1/8 mile
all most got kicked off the track.went to irwindale tonight.the car went 6.409 @ 104.62.this is the kicker is it went a 1.306 60 foot.some of the other rotor heads had said it yanked the wheels about two feet in the air and carried them out about 50 feet.so it is like this 1.306 60 foot 6.409 @ 104.62.this is still only at about 18 pounds of boost.

I could be way off, but with a 28" tire, you could probably benefit from a lower diff ratio, 4.3 or lower? I don't know, your 60' times are awesome so it may not help.
