i agree it is a tool but generally speaking people who have widebands don't blowup nearly as much

 

Edit: I should explain so that you don't get the wrong idea. You see, the tuners in my area who rely so heavily on the wideband O2 sensor are the ones who blow up all of their customer's engines. They think that the O2 sensor can make up for knowledge, experience, and competence, but it obviously doesn't. I even know of one "tuner" who has blown up one of his customer's engine 4 times now trying to chase some magical AFR number. You would think that people would get a clue some point, but alas... lol. Anyway, the best tuners that I know of use the O2 sensor sparingly or not at all. That's why I thought your statement was so funny.

Hehehe, yeah, we have some real winners. They buy a wideband O2 sensor and act like that somehow magically makes them a race tuner. It's like if I bought a paint set and thought that I could instantly paint like Picasso, lol. The amazing thing is that the kids all fall for it. I guess it's nice to think that you can buy something that makes you faster, better, stronger, or whatever, without much money or effort. It's human nature I guess.

It doesn't suck for me because many of the most respected rotary shops are here in the Southeastern US. However, I guess it would suck for me if I didn't know the difference between them and the posers.
