Xtreme Rotaries 13B PP Turbo

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone is using the Guru 13B PP Turbo setup
What kind of power do you get from it and ease of tuning?
What other things should one know about this particular engine as opposed to a more conventional setup?
Thanks

By the size of the plenum and sheer number of injectors....probably about as much HP as you can get....700+ with the right size turbo...which are GT-45's these days...

I can try to find more like it, it's kind hard as not many people are using this kind of combination

And btw it's not my car, found the pic on this forum
From the pics, looks like it runs on methanol

If i remember correctly,i think the R100 ran 7.85? and about 175mph,this was at the 07 jamboree. The car has now been sold back to the original owner and has a different engine,i don't think QSR saw all the potential of the pp combo,as they didn't have the thing on the track for long before they sold it.

Not many guys are using the pport/turbo combo's because of spool up issues. Most are running semi-p's or huge streetports.

from my understanding they spool even quicker than a combo port.. there was an engine in aussie with a pp 13b gt42 turbo that made 9psi by 3000rpm, and on that same 9 psi it made 420rwhp at less than 8000 rpm

sounds pretty crazy to me

PP's turbos come on super fast and hard, too hard to a degree.Often the powerband just isn't user friendly and they can be harder to get down the track.

That's what I mean, they spool up too fast and they end up blowing the tires off.

surely with decent boost control you could taper the boost to stop it coming on so hard, and feed it more boost with higher road speed/rpm

are there any boost controllers that actually allow that much control? so that way there could be a linear raise in boost?

You can put a butterfly restrictor in the exhaust to shape the powerband on a P-port turbo.

I had a huge streetport/small turbo combo that was like that- just too hard to drive as even though full boost comes on ~3,000rpm the huge spike of torque when the ports come up to velocity ~5,000rpm lights up the tires.

Boost controllers won't help as even at very low boost the power comes on very suddenly- that is why you have to use the exhaust backpressure "boost controller" to choke it out.
