XS-Turbo question

Hi all,

Quick question for those that have bought the e-baY XS-TURBO fc KITS.
A shop I work with regularly had a customer bring in a TII with a XS turbo kit. They are doing custom SS exhaust and new Intercooler plumbing for him.

The problem.. the Exhaust housing has NO FLANGE.
None
Nada
Nothing

There isnt a V-Band.. Nor a 4 Hole thing.. Nothing...

Any ideas?

They want to know if they have to weld on a flange.. or fab up somethnig specific for it... or what.

Thanks

Well they are going to have to weld on some sort of flange unless he wants to run open tubo. Since they are building a custom exhaust anyway I would recommend going with a nice vband setup. Two flanges and a clamp...no bolts.

The rest of the system is already fabbed up with V-Bands.

The question is.. As they have real high nickel content in the exhaust housing.. and are a bit more difficult to weld..

Do they normally come with no flange of any sort?????

i took mine to a shop and they said the hot side was cast steel, since most new turbos are cast steel instead of cast iron. what you can do... is get a piece of short pipe expanded as far as possible. and have that welded to the hotside, there might be a gap between the piping and the outside and they might have to fill it in with extra weld. then it goes into whatever size vclamp you are using. and then you can make a downpipe from there.
