Will this tranny hold up to boost?

I would like to turbocharge this engine/tranny combo. Boost will be moderate (<8-10psi max) with hp held to ~230hp and torque at 200 lb-ft or so. Will the transmission hold up to that level of boost? I *believe* it's an '80 SA tranny, but I'm not certain. Any advice would be appreciated.

It would last a little while provided you avoid clutch dump luanches, power shifts, and solid disc clutches (I'm not saying it won't survive an ocassional hard shift, just don't do it often and keep in mind that each time you do it, it could be the last). If your carefull with it, it should last a while granted its in good shape now. Don't expect it to last as long as if it were still a low powered N/A engine bolted to it. I'm assuming a light car with a reletively low final drive and street tires. If this is going in a heavy car and/or something with a tall gear and/or slicks, all bets are off.

I'd baby this till you can get a TII tranny for it.
