and whom should build my motor?

So the next question pops up!

Who will do the best FD motor build?I have to ship it wherever it goes so that is not the issue.I would like the best. The basic idea is my 93FD twin with a big street port (it drives the street but I would like to clean shop at the track this year) for my first gen.I'm going to have to keep the stock twins for now but want it built to handle a big single in a season or so.All info is apppreciated.

I personally like Marvelspeed here in Dallas, TX.

Though we are fortunate with so many good rotary shops here.

I would do a search as some people have been having some serious issues with previously reputable shops.

Check out the vendors and group buys section and scan down....

Good luck!

Do it yourself. These motors are very easy to build.

I build my own BECAUSE they are so easy. Piston engines would be much more difficult; not to mention the expense in trying to get power out of them. I'd rather just streetport and slap the housings together.

Pineapple Racing Rules, Talk to Rob and you will see he shoots straight from the hip. You would do well to have him build your engine.

I personally have an Rx7.com built motor. It has 40-50kmiles on it running at about 250RWhp and recently dynoed nearly 470. It still feels great.

Brian Cain (BDC) is making some noise with his half-bridge motors and his attention to detail is amazing. You should see his ports.

Also, I've heard Judge Ito builds a mean motor.

I'll probably opt for the self rebuild when mine finally dies.

hi nick,
as you can see, you have a number of options as to builders... and like anything there are good ones and bad ones out there.

at this time of year ability to execute is a major issue. builders are jammed w work.

i suggest you take a serious look at Brian Cain's (BDC) offer. brian is a student of the art of engine building... doing it excellently rather than just knocking them out.. his portwork is as good as anything i have seen and if he has space to do your motor now, which i assume he has since he posted to you, i would consider it my lucky day.

I would also reccomend Brian's work. I've got a friend with one of his motors, and it's pretty freaking wicked. And I plan on getting my motor ported by him this summer as well.
