When To Dowel?

At which point does dowelling move from being a nice thing to have, to being important to the well being of the motor? 400rwhp? 450rwhp? 500rwhp?

ive heard that the motor shifts around when you are making a lot of power from one guy so its a good idea to do that. My mechanic says that it interferes with the water jackets however and doesnt think it is needed. The guys that do it are running high hp 400rwhp at least all of the time. I say dont worry about it and balancing as well is another thing that is debated.

Dowelling isn't as important to 13b's as it is to the 20b's since the 20b's have more plates that can twist.
