Whats starting to bother me about Turbo Magazine....
Anyone else irratated at the fact that turbomagazine show no more domestic turbo or charged vehicles? I used to love the grand nationals and Turbo corvettes that they featured in that magazine. There used to be alot of good reading. Now there are all motor hondas and single turbo supras in every issue!!!

i feel you greg....
one of my all time favorite turbo mag feature cars was a dark purple grand national with a backhalf chasis ans IRS. the car was built just to run the silver state classic, but it looked like years of attention went into it.
what about when turbo used to do stories on wicked 911 turbos pushing 500+ hp on the street? that mag has been downhill ever since they got bought out by peterson...

HAHAHAHA thats my favorite one also, you would happen to have an extra copy of it would you? Thats the one where they were driving that 8 second beast on the street like it was a taurus!!! That paint job was sweet. Do you remember that twin turbo 57 bel air that was feature like 5 years ago? the Candy Red one! Thats my dream car!! John hennessey make a twin turbo viper that ran 9.9 with factory AC!!! That was never featured in Turbo magazine. I think im going to write them a detailed letter asking for some domestic performane back. I like real performance weather its from a 305, 427 or a sr20det.

I think I still have that issue upstairs in my room. That purple GN was built by Kenny Duttweiler. In the article they were actually comparing its performance with that of the F1.

another great car, although it wasn't featured or turbocharged was the 'big red' 69 camara of John Gottileb(sp) the car was banned from entering the silver state classic after it won like 3 years in a row. it was a carbed big block that AVARAGED like 210 mph in the 90 mile race.
who says all steel muscle cars cant handle, or run upstairs?
yeah greg, i still have that issue of turbo. i save every issue. my oldest is one from 1991 that has a feature on how to install a FCD and exaust system on a Turbo II. The whole issue is black and white.

I think we should all write them......Import racer, doesn't appear to me because, i think it lacks seriousness. more or less for teens or amateurs.
SCC. is alright and they're the only ones that cover WRC.
Grassroots sports is for THE enthusiast...although not everyone wants to rebuild a 69 volvo. It's all about content. I think it should educate the masses. I'm writing turbo a letter though. there are so many high tech cars out there. Why are they only sticking to imports.

EXACTLY!! This is exactly what i was thinking. Magazines should be entertaining yet informative. Nowadays Turbo is all just feature car, feature car, feature car, and that damn protege' they're working with. SCC is EXTREMELY informative, yet not as entertaining as Super Street (they have some of the funniest editors i've ever seen). So i just get both. Also, there's a very funny mag from the UK called Max Power, plus it has naked women in it !
