Question What aluminum pipe to buy for custom IC?

I'm looking around at aluminum pipe for my custom front mount IC... there seems to be two different kinds of aluminum; schedule 40 and schedule 80. Looks like the 80 is stronger and has a thicker wall... but it weighs quite a bit more....

does anyone have any experience in buying pipe and what did you go with... right now, I'm thinking schedule 40...

thanks for your input!

I'm kinda interested in this as well. Also how much difference will there be between 2.5" or 2.75" versus 3" pipe??? Any body got a clue?

Thanks,
STEPHEN

It's not, stainless steel is steel, not aluminum

i think he was being saracstic - could be wrong though

over here i was able to source T304 SS piping at slightly cheaper than aluminium, and the SS bends were a bit dearer but alot more accesable so it worked out close enough to the same so i went SS

Give Burns Stainless web site a try. They sell a lot of different types of tubing for race cars and custom projects. They are very friendly and have answered all of my questions in the past. They also ship your order very fast.

I have a Monster IC from Hybrid in Oz... it measures 26x12x3 with 3" inlet and outlet. .02 psi pressure drop at 15 psi.
