turbo in a stock engine

i have a 86 fc3s with about 135,500 miles...kind of low i think...but i want to turbo charge the engine....what should i do first before i go ahead and buy the turbo kit...so far everything is stock ecept for the custom headers, intake and removed smog pump.....suggestions anyone???? please and thanks

You're talking about an NA engine? If so, then there is no turbo kit.

Check the FAQ in the 2nd gen forum.

i was thinking of trying to make a custom turbo kit...starting from scratch and building everything, all the piping and all you know...it is possible isn't it??

Possible, yes. There are several methods to have a turbocharged FC that was previously an N/A. Run a search for "TII swap", "Turbo N/A", etc... Also, as Aaron Cake mentioned, check out the FAQ secion, it's been covered dozens of times. Good luck.

thx man....if anything i'll probably just end up doing a t2 swap and go on from there, but imma look into what you said....

yeah its levin, the picture was taking in japan....my cousin took it when he was traveling he said, im not sure where though, thats always sumthin i'v wanted to know. see i'v never been there but hopefully in the next 2-3 years i will fulfill my goal and move there for a while..
