Talking track times with FD

FD finally hit the track :-)
Hey guys...

Recently did the non-seq conversion due to loss of boost, well...after the conversion boost was the same !!!! WTF...after checking all hoses I finally found the hose going to the bottom of the intercooler with a 4-5" rip. After changing it I was hitting 14psi easily...I lowered the boost duty on the Power FC I have low setting for .80 kg/cm2 and .90km/cm2 for high.

Dicided going to the track.
1st pass @80kg/cm2 =12.62@ 108.9 mph w/ 2.04 60ft
2nd pass @.90kg/cm2= 13.42 @ 109.5 mph w/2.46 60ft
3rd pass @.90kg/cm2= 13.19 @ 108.7 mph w/2.25 60ft
4th pass @ .92kg/cm2= 12.66 @ 112.6 mph w/2.11 60ft

Last week I ran my T-II:
1st pass= broke axle ( on drag radials)
2nd pass= 13. something >> no 3rd gear...coasted
3rd pass= 11.7 @ 127mph lauching at idle and spining mad.

on the way home raced a Supra TT....beat him:-) and few minutes later I blew the transmission in 2nd gear.
Nursed it home with lots of noises and in next morning left huge puddle of tranny oil on the floor. Also menaged to crack the tranny casing !!!!! FD tranny :-(

At least the FD put a smile on my face tonight...

John D.
88 10th Ann ED T-II
10.8@130mph
11.1 @ 131mph -drag radials
94 White FD
12.66 @ 112.6mph:-)

What are your mods on the FD? What RPM did you launch from in the FD? A 2.46 60'? That seems kind of slow. I've never raced my FD at the track but my GSX would put down 1.74 60'. Do the 7's spin that bad? On the street I spin but I hoped at the track to hook up better. I am hopefully going this upcoming weekend to see how I do.

Mods on FD:
stock motor & turbos
Greddy PE cat-back
mid-pipe
downpipe
Greddy Intake
Magnecor wires
non-seq mod on stock twins
PowerFC

I was launching from idle to 2.5krpm....I was afraid to break anything back there.
Didn't care much for 60ft....simply wanted an idea what the car would run.

I launch at 2500rpm on the street. At the track I am planning on launching between 3400-3600rpm. Is that too high? I definately don't want to break anything. My mods are almost the same as yours except I have a Streetport, Blitz SMIC, no midpipe, and sequential twins. What kind of fuel pump do you have? I plan on buying a mid pipe next month as well as a bigger Radiator. Do you think that going non-sequential helped? I have heard it both ways. .80kg/cm2 yeilded your best time based on the 60'. I think that 60' is the most important part of a pass as well as trap speed. I would geuss your car then is capable of running low 12's with a bit more boost and a 60' under 2.0.

fuel pump and injectors are stock.

my first pass was right after arriving there...didn't even turn off the engine.
traction in 2nd gear was bad....lifted a few times.

on the last pass I stayed on the gas all the ways since I was running my friends "all motor honda".. If I were to lose I would never hear the end:-)

I did a true non-seq and it sure makes more power in the midrange and light edge at higher rpms.
I get 11psi by 3.4-3.5krpm and 13-14psi by 3.8-3.7rpm.
No more boost drop or spike around 4.5krpm with seq.
I'm really happy with it.

fuel pump, sec injectors and front mount is a must on next step.
High 11's should not be a problem

Hey, you're the guy with the white FC with the big turbo that I met on the side of the NJ Turnpike (or maybe it was the Garden State) during a crappy traffic jam, right? (I was driving my red T2)

Nice work!
