Question TII Rotors in a 3rd Gen?

Does anyone on here have or know of anyone running TII Rotors in a 3rd gen? I have heard that it increases midrange power and torque due to the heavier weight of the 2nd gen rotor but they have lower compression. I also heard that the TII rotors are alot tougher than the 3rd gen ones. Any input? You have to change the counterweight and needle bearing to do this but they can work. I am having my motor rebuilt right now and I would like to see what anyone thinks about this. Scott

this was discussed 2 weeks ago, you should try using the search function. you will get more info in less time that way, rather than waiting for everyone who contributed to the first thread to reply to this one also....

heres the thread:

BTW, there is nothing wrong with using 88TII rotors in a FD motor, this is very common practice in many high hp street and race cars. read the thread for info.

I have TII rotors in my 95 balanced/blue printed engine. My car dynoed 417rwhp@18 psi and I ran an 11.1 @134 mph. That was on 93 octane. I'm upping the boost to 22 with C16 in a few weeks.

Did you put the rotors in yourself or did you have a shop do it? If you did it yourself, and problems/concerns?

I had the engine sent out. Sorry, can't help you out with the problems/concerns area.

I am going to go ahead and do it. I am getting a new counterweight and needle bearing. But other than that I think that is all I need, right? My motor is being built by Bryan at BNR Supercars and I am getting it Race Ported and TII rotors with 3mm seals just in case. While I learn more about tuning before I go to 2mm Mazda seals on my next motor. I am also running a GT35/40 Turbo with the PFC. Any more info form your experiences? Thanks, Scott
