Question TII Build

I am starting to piece together my plans for a TII build. I was wondering what are some good power mods to make? I'll be getting an S5 TII with all the factory bits[ECU, tranny, etc] and it's eventually going into an FB. I had originally planned to go with a basically JDM setup to get the car on the road, then mod later.

If you could do anything to this motor before installation, what would it be?
[Keeping reliability and power in mind over screaming raw output....]

Yes I know there is a search function, but I'd like other input as well...

Check everything over on the engine before putting it in. Vacume lines, wires, gaskets, turbo, etc.... This alone can give you cheap safe power. For mods just search around on here for the ones that suit your needs at this time. Also consider getting everything off of the motor that you won't need later so that its easier to work on.
