Question for those with HKS iridium plugs...

For those of you who have HKS iridium plugs or any other race plugs, how many miles are they good for? How often should they be changed?

Also, are these plugs good for daily driving or only for hard thrashing?

Mine's been in there for about 7K and look good still. 9's all around...It's not a daily driver but when I do drive it, I drive it pretty hard.

What are the HKS numbers on the plugs? My 20B came with a set of HKS plugs but I cannot find info on what they are. They are marked F45RE. Anyone able to ID these?
Thanks, Gary

The Iridium plugs you have are close to the R45RE plugs that are a temperature rating of 9. They can stand a lot of abuse, and no they are not meant for daily driving but they still can last fairly long. I would say change those about 20k miles if you street race. If not, then I think they can last for 30k +.

I know these are not hks plugs but I have been running the ngk iridum plugs for a while now and really like them. they are the br10eix a 10 heat range, I drive my single turbo car everyday with out any issues. I was running the b10egv's but only lasted around 5k miles I am still testing these to see how long they last. I bought them for around $5 each at my local orilles auto parts store. much better than paying $30 a plug..

you do have to have the thin wall sprakplug socket to chanages these though.

Thanks,
James
