I'm sure the guys that continued the R&D on the rotary after FORD said no are extremely proud of themselves. And I'm sure Ford is sayin whew glad we took a risk on it. LONG LIVE THE ROTARY ENGINE!!!!!
The Rotaries in NHRA Sport Compact All Motor seem to be doing very well at this point, can't wait to see how the Renesis motor will do in that class, especially in a nice lightweight body like Jesus Padilla's or Ken Sheepers race cars.

The RENESIS won the 2.5-3L category as well:

I am sure that will fuel the displacement debates for some, and provide some outside validation and perhaps resolution for others.

Wow, it actually one three categories, it took 1st in Best New Engine, it took the 1st in the best 2.5-3.0 category where they considered it to be a 2.6liter. And it also took first in the overall competition with the 2003's International Engine of the Year award.
Damn, sounds like they are doing something right with it

Damn! i didn't know that Lada made rotaries. I remember back in Nicaragua they used to import those from russian and they sucked, but were really cheap to buy and fix, they were something like the Volkswagen but without the reliability.
