Question Stupid engine question...

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I wanted to know of its at all possible to mount an RX-8 engine in a first generation RX-7 (1979). I found an RX-8 engine at a scrap yard in town and wanna know if I sould pick it up. Anyone have any idea?

Too much work and too much money would be wasted.

i'm planning on doing that with my first gen--except i'm gonna cheat and use an old front cover so it bolts right up, and the fc crank sensor is easy to deal with. it'll probably get powered by an e6k.

Anything is possible, if you have enough money. You can substitute years of experience and an extensive collection of tools for some of the money.

With that said, I would love to update a first gen with a Renesis engine. I have one updated with a T-II engine. I've got over $5000 in it (not counting the cost of the car), so far, and it's not done. That's because I have everything done at a shop that knows what they are doing.
