spark plugs

any certain spark plugs or brands i should use in my 90 rx7 gtu n/a? thanks for you replys. I also heard that i should use lower octane gas in my car. . . is this true?

NGK 7s in the lower (leading) holes and NGK 9s in the trailing (top) hole should do it. Prolly go for Platinum. IIRC, the part #s are BUR7EQP and BUR9EQP--not 100% sure. Make sure they're NGK rotary specific---piston spark plugs will be bad for your apex seals .

Re: fuel, what octane are you running now? 87 should be A-ok on an n/a rotary.

anyone using the HKS rotory spark plugs? and if so how do they work?

I am not running the HKS plugs but I am running the HKS twin power and using the Greddy race plugs and I have had no problems with my ignition, car runs great.

PM ErnieT. I think he had an electrode come off on an HKS plug and grenade his motor.......

The lower octane is more flamable than the higher octane. Less flamamble means smaller explosion, means less power = possible carbon lock.
