Some questions about fueling
Some questions about fueling
Hi all,
I am currently making my new fueling setup on my FD, and I have some questions (maybe some stupid questions sometimes ^^)
I planned running E85 as soon as possible, with Link ECU. And maybe in the futur, a stockport with single turbo, so my setup need to handle this...
I want to make everything 1 time, and don't coming back on the fueling
I received my first parts, FFE rails, fuel filter, ID 725 on primary, ID 2000 on secondary, FPR AEM.
And for the rest, I'm lost !
My idea is to go with AN 8 for feed lines, AN6 for return, and 2 fuel pumps with a FEED intank collector (for possible starvation) or with surge tank (so 3 pumps if I choose this...) with one way valve per pump, and hardwire, so :
1- Is it stupid to run 2 pumps ? I know it's a little overkill but I want this if 1 of the pump decide to die
2- With same setting on the FPR, will the fuel pressure change if i use 1 or 2 pump (if I run 2 pumps and one of them die, did the fuel pressure decrease ? or the fpr avoid this ?)
3- Do I need to change the canister etc ? (All elements on the fuel tank expect pumps) or is it OK to keep everything
4-Did I forget something in my setup ? Advices are welcome
Hope my language is clear, if you guys can help me...
Thanks a lot ! and have a nice day

1 pump full time, 2nd pump staged with hobbs switch for boost or triggered by ecu. Not ideal to run 2x pumps full time, it heats up return fuel into tank, and uses more amps then necessary.
Also,
When staging the pumps. If pump 1 dies, the car will cut off. If pump 2 or pump 2 relay fails, you will have low fuel pressure, below target, in boost which can be dangerous, so do a good job on wiring and plumbing.

Thanks you for your answer !
Ok so i think i'm going to use juste 1 pump (aem 340 ?) In hardwiring
I just want 2 pump for security but if it's not good...
1 will be ok for the moment with oem turbo. I'll add a security on the fuel pressure and everything should be fine !
