So after Hours and Hours of intensive researching and coming up with new ideas...
I was wondering if anyone has every thought of or is in the process of replacing our motor with a Renesis engine. You know, maybe it could even be turboed. Just a thought though, I'm sure no one else has thought about this before so I figured I would throw the idea out there.

yeah, actually I've heard a decent number of aftermarket tuners have given up on the 8, a study showed that if you pull off the entire exhaust from a 7, you get like 50hpl, if you do the same for an 8, they got 12 hp, if that gives you any idea of the potential. Also heard that someone tried to turbo an 8 a while back and blew the engine during tuning.

I doubt you gain 50HP from taking the exhaust off any previous NA RX-7. The reason you can so much HP with exhaust mods on the Turbo II's and 3rd gens is that they are turbo charged. The RX-8 gains power just like you would expect for a well tuned naturally aspirated factory motor.

then the only solution for the 8 would have to be a turbo or super charger. from what i understand though, you'd gain more than 12 hp from a 2 liter piston engine (n/a)
