Question Single wire alternator conversion.

Hey eveybody. I am looking for some info. I have been searching the forum for about an hour now and haven't found anything relavant. I saw once online, how to do a single wire alternator conversion. Actually all it was was which alternator to use so that you don't need that extra plug on the back. I am cleaning up my engine bay and want desperately to get rid of that 3 wire plug. I remember the website showed the use of an alternator for a chevy or maybe a ford.
Any info would be great, a link would be better.
Thanx in advance!

I'm running a turbo 11 alternator in my 79 RX7, and all I've got coming off the back is the main power cable. I'm not using that plug at all, but then my ignition lights don't come up and if you snap a fan belt you've got no indication.
