The problem with running a roots (positive displacement)SC on a rotory is generally they are non intercooled (can do meth injection or a air/water IC similar to a ford lightning), and draw a lot of crankshaft power to turn. Id imagine you would be more likely to blow your motor w/ a roots style blower than a turbo.

The problem w/ a centrifugal SC on a rotary is their boost rises linearly w/ RPM (5 psi at 3000 RPM and 10 psi at 6000 RPM) which adds to the problem of an already peaky powerband. Not to mention, there is still crankshaft draw w/ a centrifugal (although not as much as roots)

Whoever told you turbo's blow your engine no problem is full of it. They put the least amount of stress on the motor per horsepower made.

Superchargers definitely have their place, but I don't think they are that great for rotaries.

nice but them turbos seem hard to boost up o mean dosent the wastegate or bov alow you to run more boost

because i saw this guy running the stosk turbo at 20-27 psi but i have no idea how ^^

and the sc sounds like it would be safe with a intercooler runnig a boost cooler correct me if im wrong

but still with the sc how would you run more boost iv read of guys putting a wastgate or bov on a sc shouldnt this create more boost without changing the pullys

The only way to change boost on a supercharger is to change either the pulleys or the flow charactaristics of the motor (better flow yielding less boost).

Stock turbo at 20-27 psi = stupid. It is way out of it's efficiency range and blowing air hotter than you could imagine.

After a preset boost point (by wastegate spring rate/boost controller) the wastegate will open and divert exhaust gasses around the turbo. If you raise the spring rate or boost controller setting, the wastegate will not open until the new point is reached.

When you slam the throttle shut, all the air that the turbo (or supercharger) has nowhere to go but back through the turbo (or supercharger) in the reverse direction. Blow off valves release excess pressure when the throttle is abruptly closed, and increase the life of the turbo.

As stated before, turbos put the LEAST amount of stress on a motor for equal power levels. Bad tuning/irresponsible setups blow motors. I think you should do a little bit of basic turbo research.

mwatson got it all correct.

You have a lot of researching to do as to basic turbo and supercharger systems and how they work. Then a LOT of researching to set up a engine properly (fuel, timing, EMS etc ETC ETC). Then more researching as to the benefits and drawbacks (is there a drawback to a properly sized turbo? ) of the different turbo trims,sizes,A/R's etc and different types of superchargers.

so the right question would be which turbo or supercharger would be best to make 400-500 RELIABLE hp and about that stock turbo wouldnt it be safe if i were to run a boos cooler

400-500hp is nothing compared to those rotary cars you see at nopi that do 9.00 sec in the 1/4 mile now those things are fast
