ROTARY PORTERS PLEASE HELP! Did I Screw Up My Engine?
Well the other day I was porting using my judge ito template and it is my first time and I believe that I definitely screwed up my rear plate and that I probably screwed up my intermediate plate too.
Please look at the pics and see what you think. My main concern here is not the hole that goes into the cooling path in the secondary port; I can easily weld that shut. It is that I ported the side that is closest to E-Shaft and I don’t think I should have ported that at all.
As you can see in the pics the ware marks of the side seal on the plate are now touching the edge of the port and in the case of the intermediate port, there is one place that it goes a bit into the area that the side seal travels.
I am pretty sure this is a problem, but I would greatly appreciate some input.
Can these surfaces be welded and ground down to fix what I have over ported?
On average how much do new plates run?
Thanks for the help.

In my opinion you'll be fine. You are only intruding on the oil ring area very slightly, it looks like less then 1MM. But you probably want to wait for a 2nd opinion from someone who has more experience porting over the oil ring area then I do (I don't do it).
As for the coolant hole, been there done that. Unless you are an accomplished welder at cast and know the post heat proceedures, then just braze it.

Yeah, your barely into it, worst thng that can happen is it smokes a tiny bit.
Looks like your into the side seal track though on the other side of the port to me, make sure you beval/polish the top edge of that port into a nice smooth transition back to the flat of the plate so you dont munch side seals with that porting style.
