I have tried it in the past. You will notice the header will not last on the street. In a race car it should be ok, but daily driving, I lost 2 headers with a months run time on them. Went with the jet hot type coating and never had a problem again.

bwaits:> Was your DP Stainless ?
Stainless should hold up longer and not oxidize, but they still get very hot.

Andrew:> There is no HP gain from this, just a big underhood temp reduction especially after stopping.

Ceramic coating is a little more expensive but it will last. Both will lower under hood temps.

The header wrap will dry out over a couple years time and fall apart, especially if it gets wet - driving in rain.
