Removal of air pump

Have removed the air pump with the help of a pulley kit. Car now seems to struggle under boost. Like its about to choke out? Any ideas. Its a newly rebuilt engine and hasn't doen a full mile yet. Is this just a coinsidence or have i missed something simple on the pulley kit fit. Any help is appreciated!
