Re-Circ the BOV

Who has their BOV plumbed back into there intake?

After tuning my engine...I noticed, when I shift (even at high rpms) I have some what of a lag before I'm back at max boost (17psi). Only thing I can think of...is to re-circ my BOV and wanted to hear some testimonials IF anyone does this.

I tried thinking of the bad things that could happen...

I have an open intake, so I plan on plumbing the BOV into a short 4" OD pipe...can anyone tell me if this is not a good idea

TIA

You can do that but then you are adding already heated air back into the turbo to heat some more.

If you have lag as you mentioned, then you have other problems. Is your turbo toooooo big?

BOV is on the cold pipe.

I believe my motor is a little weak, I haven't dyno'd it yet, but seems to build boost a little slower than I'd like to see...I do have the shortest IC pipes I've seen on a single, probably out flowing my IC too. I should probably turn down the boost, but really curious how my first motor build will hold up to the abuse I can dish out She's a blast to drive and has been beaten on for ~8700miles minus break-in...very very streetable with something scary up top! I think a grandma could drive my ride and not even be aware of the beast in hiding.

when I say lag...there is a moment when I juice the throttle after a shift that the wastegate isn't screaming. Not that I'm waiting on 17psi from 5psi or something stupid like that.

I tuned a 35R up to 19psi, and that ride is what I'm striving for I guess.

The BOV on the cold side of the IC does help to keep the air flow inertia towards the throttle body which is good. So you are running an open dump tube on your WG? Do you actually feel lag or think you have it do to the temporary lapse in sound?

I hope you have removed the vacume operated double throttle, if not it might be also contributing to this problem.

I would like to see your timing maps as I am still tuning my GT35R engine. I am waiting my 1600cc secondaries so I can go above 15PSI boost.

You are the first that I have heard to mention "lag" between shifts.

no DT and yes Open WG

lag was probably a poor choice of words, although it does mean time before max boost.

I will try to datalog a run and give more detail this weekend.

as for the timing maps...I've got an E6X file I can email you... I think you are using a PFC, no? I guess I could type it out for you worse comes to worst.
