Smile Ran 12.8@108 on wednesday

Finally made it into the twelves. It felt soo good
I think I could have gone a little quicker but the clutch wouldn't take it. Hoping to get a clutch and hopefully it will start cooling off(weather that is) and I can try for a mid twelve.

mods: full exhaust, m2 airbox, power FC, and drag radails

You don't have a ic, y pipe, or anything else? I'm also curious to know what your 60' times where. I'm not doubting you, just curious, because with my car i've ran a best of 13.1@108. I did'nt have a boost controler, mid pipe, and the efini y pipe. I'm shooting for low 12s eventualy on street tires. Later, CJ

12.8

No ic, but yes I do have a efini pipe, sorry forgot. To be honest didn't notice any differnce with it and only changed it because the stock plastic one split.Do you know why some stock ones are plastic and some are aluminium, I was just wondering? My best sixty foot time on 225 dunlop sp8000s was 1.96 with a 13.2 @105 againt a head wind at sears piont. I put on some 255 bf goodrich drag radails and got a 1.92 with 12.8 @108 at sacramento. I feel like I can do a 1.8 with the drag radails, but I was unable to do a burn out. when I tried the stock clutch just couldn't handle a burn out and then being launched soo for the rest of the night I launched without a burnout. I need a clutch I think I'm gonna try the center force, anyone tried one?

rev up to 5k and let go or how do you do it

drag radial

The tires are great! I was launching at 3000 with the dunlops, with these things I was launching at 5000rpms. The only down side is thats right when the second turbo kicks in so its a bit of a fine line. I'm hoping when i can get them nice a hot and sticky with a burnout I'll be able to try a higher rpm. I bought mine from Jegs for $135 each they had them in stock. Summit said they had to special order them and it would take 40-60 days.

You can get the BFGs from Etires.com for under $300 shipped to your door (they have free shipping). Most people seem to launch around 6-7k with the BFGs, so that might help your short time. What tire pressures are you running?

12.8

Twenty psi. It was too high I wanted to lower it to 15psi,but It was my first time on the tires. I only got four runs that day. First two I bouged the third I ran good and on the forth I spun. I'm sure with some practice I can get 1.8 sixty times.I was planning on going back up tommarow,But it rained today. I think I'm going to try some unnleaded race gas,15psi in the tires and a big smoky burnout.

60 foot times

Dont feel bad. I went out this weekend and could not get better than a 1.9 60 foot time with MT ET Streets!! I use to get 1.8 on my old shitty Falken's! I really need to learn to launch my car.

I wish I could pull off a 60 like you guys. I went one weekend and ran a 12.6@114 with a 2.18, then the next week with an intercooler ran a 12.6@118 with a 2.31. This was on Nitto drag radials and I had horrible wheel hop, have some diff bushings and trailing arms that I haven't installed yet so hopefully that takes care of it.

12.8

Practice, Practice, Practice. It seems like most people go to the track **** up and say I can't drive and don't go back. The big problem is wheel hop. I was running fifteen psi in my street tires(sp8000) trying to keep it to a minimum. and trying to ride the clutch when I launched. I finnaly broke my power plant frame from wheel hop and realised maybe I should fix this sooner rather than later. The problem is not only the bushings but the lack of rebound dampening in the stock shocks. I put on some toe and trailing links and konis and now I have zero wheel hop. I can **** up now and still get a 2.0 sixty foot time. Also one track might very from the next. So your 60' might might be effeced
