are you guy confusing the BONEZ RACE PIPE, with the RB CAT replacement pipe??:
They are both the SAME DIMENSIONS, the only thign is that RB is a 2 piece and its SS, while the Bonez is "Aluminized mild steel"

Bonez: http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=4&part=2
RB: http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16206

IT quieter than a Header/presilencer combo.

You will not have the "Chaisaw" noise that is attained by installign the header. And the power gains are almost the same.

"Why is that?" you ask.

It because the header/silencers or midpipe combo is 2", while the Racepipe is 2.5" so even thoguth the air does not flow as smooth comign Out of the Engine at first, there is more room to flow by usign the 2.5" diameter pipe, so this makes the power be almost the same, while not being as loud.

Ohh I forgot to add. Racign beat discourages the use of a header unless it is a Carburated Engine. They said that you will have the same gains by using their Down pipe/Silencer combo instead.

I belive they know what they are talkign about.

BUT, if have a ported Engine, then a header is recomended to get the best HP gain from the prot, if not, the Race pipe will be just as good.

Wow, I though the Bonez system would be loud as hell, esp. at WOT.. Now, how is the performance gain?

hmm did you feel a noticable gain by going with the header instead of the Race pipe?

Also, do you have a silencer with that header?
