Talking RaceLogic Traction Control

Well, I am a very ******* happy boy

I ordered my race logic unit the other day after 5 months of corespondence with a local agent.

What turned up on my door today was a full race custom unit in an extruded black alluminium case with military connectors ! Configured to run on a two rotor. It looks awsome and I cant wait to get it installed. I looked on the Race Logic site and to get this unit it is POA, I shudder to think how much it would cost, the dealer told me that It would cost over $5500 Aus, I got it for half that ! Merry Xmas to me

It looks very trick compared to the std unit. Woooo Wooo I'm excited.

Very nice! Aside from the box and connectors how does that unit differ from the standard one in functionality?

I am not sure, they forgot to send me the book! ( I am getting it posted to me tommorrow )

I got a floppy disk with quite a few program files on it, trying to work my way through them, but I will need to wait till I get the book. I am not sure if there is a hardware difference, It looks like their F1 unit listed on their site, so hopefully it has some trick electronics in it ???

It was ordered as a custom motorsport version (configured for a 2 rotor) and the customer never collected it, I got it for below cost

Can't wait to see the results on your beast.

I'm sure others are interested too.

It's summer in Australia now, right.

I'm stuck with mine in 0 degrees winter crap.

Yes its summer, today 30 deg C, and the sky is orange yellow in colour, you cannot see the sun due to bush fires !!! It looks just like a cloudy day except that it is smoke cloud !

Ken I cant wait for the cold and rain once I fit the TC, I am going to enjoy racing my car again We have a realy tight Hill Climb track here and the TC will be a hell of an advantage against othe 2WD cars without it.

How is your unit performing ?

I just have the base unit with the 6-way adjustable switch and programmed for 0-5-10-15-20% slippage and of course you can turn it off. You don't want to turn it off in inclimate weather(damp, wet, snow, icey roads).

I originally bought it as a performance feature to controll wheelspin in drag racing. Best feature I bought for my car, it can save your life too. Saved me BIG time on my way back from KDR 2 months ago. I ran into a snow and ice storm. Had to go 50 miles in that crap till I found a motel to stay over in. If you have high performance tires on these high-powered cars they don't run worth crap in ice and snow. Heck, semis would fly by you and almost blow you off the road. I was lucky. traction control saved my butt.

I'm looking for .2-.3 seconds better 1/4 mile times and .1-.15 better 60' times.

I can't wait for the summer to come. Looks like you and nocab72 will be able to post some results way before me.

I would like a unit, but the problem is they dont make one for a 3 rotor.

I would have to have them custom program one for me.

I'm sure it is just a matter of custom programming. I'd check it out with them and see the cost. I bet almost all the guys that spent tons of $$ on 3-rotor conversions could share in the custom programming costs and get the price down.

I know once you start to get some real world results feedback there will be many more high-powered FDs that will want this feature.

I wish I could provide more but it's too cold here now.
