3rd gen axles,

What's the main problem with the 3rd gen axles breaking. Does the actuall shaft twist casing them to break or is the weak link the joint?

Thanks.

Call RP. They've probably broken more than some of us have even laid eyes on.

The axles break due tp them twisting and snapping in half. The ends on them are quite strong, it's the shaft that breaks from twisting.

I know a shop that makes custom chromoly axles and gurantees them for a year. You bring him your stock axles and he uses your ends on the new chromoly center and gurantees that they will last a year, his part will last a year but he does not gurantee that the factory ends will not break. But if they don't normaly break then this may not be a bad idea. Cheaper then Pettit and everyone else as well.

$80 per axle? For what kind? Is there any warranty with them? **** I may take a set as well. That is really cheap.
