question bout porting

i read the article bout the RENESIS engine the other day in SCC and apparently it sez dat the old 13B flaws in that exhaust escapes into the combustion chamber diluting the intake...is ther a way to eliminate dis problem?

Yep, by moving the exhaust ports over to the side housings like Mazda did in the Renesis.

Yes there is.You can inject compressed air between the intake and exhaust ports. We had a guy over here do it,and the fuel consumption dropped quite allot.

they got almost 34 mpg on a stock 12A

I don't see how that could possibly work. If you inject more air you need more fuel to keep from detonating. How are they regulation the air/fuel when this concept would seem to bypass the fuel system?

I understand the theory behind that in being that compressed air will hopefully force the exhaust gasses to all go out of the engine instead of some back into the intake. However, the problem I have with that is how large is the compressed air bottle? It would have to be absolutely enormous and impractical just to supply enough air for any useful period of time. If you could find a way to help suck out the exhaust gasses from the engine it would seem more practical with the same effect. Keep in mind that an engine that is 100% volumetric efficient still has 10% exhaust gas dillution! A figure that most people are not aware of. The Renesis actually holds more hydrocarbons in the chamber to be carried around to be reburned and cleaned up. Really good for emissions reasons. Since there is no port overlap but rather many degrees of dwell, no exhaust gasses are sucked back into the intake charge to dillute it further which helps power and economy. There will always be a very small amount of air that travels back around regardless. This is an inescapable fact. The Renesis merely allows primarily only a small amount of gasses back around and even then they are only gasses which should be cleaned up a little further anyways.
