question about displacment

i under stand that for every 360 degres the rotor turns the e-shaft turnes 1080 degres. so my question is: is the 1.3L mesured after the full rotor cycle or just one side? as in one e-shaft rvolution or 3? piston engines mesure displacment after 2 crank shaft revolution in order to complet the full cycle. ya i expect to get flamed on this one

Engine displacement is measured by the displacement of *one* rotor face, times the number of rotors. (ex: 654cc x2 for a 13B)

This means that the stated displacement is per one revolution. 4-stroke piston engines are stated as displacement per two revolutions. So a 1.3l Wankel displaces the same as a 2.6l four-stroke piston engine.

NSU convinced people that this was the way Wankels should be measured, so that their "1 liter" engines would be taxed in the 1000cc-down tax bracket but would make power like a 2 liter. A little coup for them.

Actually, it is measured how it should be measured. Piston engines are measured in exactly the same manner (swept volume X the number of cylinders), regardless of whether they are 2-stroke or 4-stroke engines. Sorry, no elaborate conspiracies here.

No, see above.
