Project Car research

Hi everybody.

I'm new to this forum as a registered user but it's been a while now that I monitor the threads and various informations around here. (Oh before I forget, please note that english is not my childhood language, so my appologies for the misspelled words and bad sentences syntax )

I'm currently owning a 2003.5 yellow MazdaSpeed Progegé that I'm fixing the "factory flaws" and keep it as my performance daily driver. After I'll be done with that project, I intend to build myself a "Weenend-warrior" based on the 2nd gen Rx-7.

I already went through about 70% of the information on FC3S Pro website and decided to choose the FC "Kouki" turbo II as my project's platform (for the tranny, drivetrain, LSD as the main reasons and so as the appearance I like better than the Zenki). I already planned to target around 350-400hp depending of the deals I'll see as I go along, but the only thing I'm not sure right now is the engine.

I've read all the docs about the differences between the 13BT (kouki version), 13B-RE, and 13B-REW but it seems that these articles didn't helped me choosing the "best" block for my project. They all seems to be able to put down that amount of power with the proper mods and I'd like some help to pick the one that would get me the best compromise between power output / durability / fiability / cost. (I don't think I'll go withe the 13B-REW but I've put it anyways)

I understand that some of them requires rather difficult swaps but since time is not an issue I don't mind spending the time it needs to get it done right.

So, I'm waiting on your comments and sorry for the big post as my first one

Where can you buy a 13B-REW. I've been looking online but I haven't found many promising sites.

http://rotaryresurrection.com/ See the "Prices" section

Corksport (http://www.corksport.com also sells 20B and 13B-RE

Edit: oups, the guy from the first link only overhauls them. He doesn't sell.. I'll keep looking.

I only hear good things about the ease of building the REW, btw, I'm pretty sure that you can find them on flashoptions.com

Im pretty sure that the best thing to do would be to use the 13bre but take out the exhaust sleaves or use rew housings.
