Any way looking to make friends not enemies, I just want to inform that I'm still here and I will be coming out with a new EFI. system and I may need someone to do independent testing. if anyone is interested just drop me an e-mail. And visit my website, I will be posting pics soon. some of the mold are done, but I'm still working on the site.

I wonder if you guys will make a carb hat with a 4.80 inches ID mouth; for those 4 injectors TB out there

I already have some epoxy that will fix this problem though. Other than that it is one very nice piece!!!
What epoxy did you use, and how did it turn out? I have the same intake, and going to expoxy and port this weekend.

I ended up porting the irons to Cosmo port size and gasket matched the intake. There was enough material removed to solve the step issue. I am sure all the intakes are cast the same (except the 6 port) and they just mill different port sizes into it, that would explain the mismatch.

I'm running an 88 TII engine, and not trying to do a rebuild. My engine is street ported to a TII intake gasket, not a cosmo, so I'm going to have to expoxy.

Did the intake port easily, or is the alluminum too soft? If it's nasty I'll just fill in and smooth, if it's OK I'll taper the ports and fill in the gaps.

What epoxy if any have you used? I've brassed piston heads before to fill in crackes, ported heads, and side plates but haven't used much expoxy in porting before.

I hear good and bad things about JB weld but seems to be the most used, and Mazdatrix sells it for porting filling (though they used Defcon before). Any one have any info?

What's your view on the Racing Beat intake? I'm using one on a TII motor with a 66mm turbo. Just wondering would it be worth switching to a J-Tech or JW. Car makes 440rwhp.

I have done some molding on the inside of intake before and i use a product called Hysol. This **** is TOUGH. I compared the spec of it against devcon and it is much stronger. I just don't know if it is available to the general public. IIRC it's about $80 a quart.

Racing Beat, JW and Jay-tech are all good manifold, they do the same job, but get there in different ways. They all help you mount a 4 barrel holly carb to a rotary motor. Racing beat is the shortest and carb sits the farthest from the motor also I remember back in the day's the first gen manifold 12A and 13B from Racing Beat had problems with the flanges breaking. I don't think the second gen has that problem. Jw is tall like the Jay-tech but the carb sits a little closer to the motor than racing beat also it is the heaviest of all manifold the flanges are consider too thick by some racer's. An other thin I keep hearing over and over is the only reason they got the RB. or JW Manifold is because they were unable to find Jay-Tech. Now Jay-tech manifold sits the closest to the motor, allowing more room for bigger turbocharged system, that is one of the reasons why PR racers prefer the jay-tech manifold.

The other reason is because Pro-jay.com formally known as "Jay-tech" is the only After market Intake Maker that offers an "Aluminum Casted Semi Peripheral Manifold".

That includes: 6-port Semi, Turbo II Semi, Twin Turbo Semi and the Twin Turbo Cosmo Semi.

Sorry for the long answer, back to you, if your car is done and running, I would not change the manifold. Don't waist your money, just have fun. But If you have a new project, and need a manifold you will have more room to play with, If you get the Jay-Tech Manifold. Good luck with your car.
