Pro-Jay Intake manifold !

1 Attachment(s)
Just got my Pro-Jay Holley style manifold today! Just wanted to coment on the quality of this badboy! Its a better looking intake w/ longer runners than Racing Beat and better/thicker feel than Jaytech. Of all the manifolds I've ever used I gotta say this is worth the money in quality alone! :)

Nice little JW you got there.

I was told by the owner awhile back that they weren't making anymore and were trying to sell off all their stock. You were lucky to get one.

For the money, you can't go wrong with the quality.

You going to run a carb or throttlebody ?

EJ fits nice. :)

The only things i don't like about the intake is 1-the angle that the runner intersects the port at the iron. The port on the intake is parallel to the ground and the port in the motor is about a 25-30 degree (REW). 2-the step that is left in the bottom of the runner after the port opening is machined in the intake flange. I already have some epoxy that will fix this problem though. Other than that it is one very nice piece!!!

Latin270 02-07-08 09:50 PM

Right now for budget reasons I'm switching to carb w/ nos but down the line FI for sure. As far as the intake goes according to Pedro they are shipping these to PR, Aus and they are still in stock in 4 and 6 ports. Viking your set up is insperational as is/was yours 13B-RX3!

13B-RX3 02-07-08 10:05 PM

They do not plan on stopping production of the intakes (from what i was told). As a matter of fact they started popping up on eBay again.

Thanks, i will post up pics of my NEW jw intake when it gets back ;).

I got mine from http://stores.ebay.com/Jaguar-Parts-Store , Pedro is a good guy! Ask him for the Holley style intakes and he'll hook you up. Cost $220+ shipping for a mega-high quality intake!

My 2 sense

KGPARTS sells them. Thats where I got mine. Ihave a third gen with an R85 turbo kit. I had to do ALOT of modifing to the turbokit to get it to fit, and I still don't like how it fits. The fuel rail is sitting right on the turbo (exhaust) and the downpipe is right against the J-tech Manifold. Not good because of heat (duh) . Also it revs at about 2000. Not a big deal for some track guys like you Anthony, but I keep mine on the street. Does anyone have a way I can fix this? I think the throttle plates aren't machined perfect enough, and the engines pulls vacuum right around it.

13B-RX3 02-12-08 04:35 PM

Something is obviously not right with it. I would send it back and have it repaired.

Thanks for the info, I will contact Keith. I drive mine on the street as well. I do trailer it to the track in the event I break something.

Buying direct from JW is cheaper than anyone. I beleive they sell it for around $175, I think that's what I got it for. I guess they decided to continue production with the increased forum advertising :)

Original jay-tech manifold are in production and Jay-tech is now called Pro-jay.com.
And there is no way the jw manifold can compete with the pro-jay Manifold. Jay-tech has been making manifold since 1996 specializing in Rotaries. Quality and Performance is our #1 priority. Not how cheap we can make a manifold. Let me explain, when you are getting ready to do a burnout and your opponent is staging on the light and you are depending on the performance of your components, at that moment do you feel better because you got a cheaper manifold, or do you feel confident because you don't have to worry about your High Performance Pro-jay Intake Manifold, the same one all deep 7's cars from P.R. are running. Track Tested for years, before JW copied it. But if you are making a "Driving Miss Daisey Car" then JW manifold is well suited for that. Good luck!!!
ACCEPT NO IMITATION / PRO-JAY.COM

I've been seeing this style of manifold/Throttle Body setup a lot lately. Are they applicable to street cars? Since it would be more like a stock 4-barrel....I'm assuming better response and mileage compared to IDA style intakes...

What makes your intake better than the JW Intake ? I've got the JW Intake and it's pretty darn nice.

You gotta understand, you stopped production and completely disappeared. Heck, most people never even heard of you. That's how long you've been out of the game.

pro-jay 07-15-08 06:23 PM

The Quad IV intake manifold Family was intended for drag racing. Performance and Throttle response you will get but forget about fuel economy.

pro-jay 07-15-08 06:35 PM

Yes I have been quiet for a couple of years, but not out of the game. I have new components coming out soon, let's see how long it take for them to copy.

The reason I work with rotaries is because I love the motor, not to get rich from them, If money was the #1 objective I would selected the Honda motor.

13B-RX3 07-15-08 07:40 PM

Well, my JW seems to work fine for me and the both times i had to buy an intake they had them in stock when i could not get a pro-jay.

Saying "ALL" the 7 second cars from PR run them is a bit far fetched too. We are not just a bunch of douches that you can come in here and lie to. If your product is that good you shouldn't have to hype it up like this.

I am not just hating, i tried very hard to get one of your intakes but couldn't.

If your getting ready to do a burnout and he is already staged the race is over, the intake won't help:lol:

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word all, it is more like most of them are using the jay-tech manifold. Also the reason I sounded a bit hyped up is because it is not a good feeling when someone copies your product.

Any way looking to make friends not enemies, I just want to inform that I'm still here and I will be coming out with a new EFI. system and I may need someone to do independent testing. if anyone is interested just drop me an e-mail. And visit my website, I will be posting pics soon. some of the mold are done, but I'm still working on the site.
