What would you guys consider a "fair" price to pay for good used rotors and housings for a 13b-rew

Thats cheap for an FD rotor/rotor housing. Id say 100/ea on rotors, maybe 150 for a prisitne housing.

That's depressing. the guys doing my engine are charging me 400 bucks for a pristine used housing and 250 for a used rotor. And these guys are friends and are supposedly hooking my up here.

Well, let me put it this way, and you tell me what you think. They did my engine about 6 months ago. I was playing with the nitrous, ran lean and blew a apex seal taking out my rear rotor and housing. They are going to basically rebuild the engine for me with new apex seals, gasket set, and a used rotor and housing and port the new/used housing to match the other for 2200. So are they giving me a break on something but raping on something else or what?

By the way, how many of you build your own engines? I watched him tear mine down in all of 5 minutes... it looked pretty damn simple.

If you live in thousand oaks just take it to MAZDARACING. As for rebuilding your own motor, well im just abouto to complete my parts for a new rebuild. It will be my first time but i did alot of research here about building your own motor and alot of people said its pretty simple. Just make sure you have the factory manual and the HAYNES book that you can get at any pepboys or one those big auto parts store. GOOD lUCK.

Funny you should say that. Mazdaracing are the ones doing my engine. The 1st time they left the tension bolts loose. I had to pull the tranny and retorque them after a week of driving because coolant was leaking out one of the bolt holes. . One of them was about 1/4 inch backed out. When they heard my engine blew they called me, which I thought was pretty cool so I went back to them. I don't blame them for the engine going bad. I know this was my fault but they said they would take care of me anyway. So much for that...
I will just start collecting used parts when I see good deals and next time I will do my own. I guess you just can't trust anyone. Hell, I can get a new housing for a little over 500!
