powder coated alternator.
Anyone in here have a powder coated alternator? If so did you have to take it apart and have them just powder the "cage" or did you just take them the alternator and they took care of the rest? Thanks.

Disassembly is the Responsible Thing to do.
When I had my alternator cage polished my polisher told me a story about a guy who wanted his alternator polished without disassembling it first. The polisher refused saying residue would get inside the alternator and ruin it. The customer insisted. The polisher said okay but the customer had to accept all liability for the outcome. The alternator failed within the next month. I would expect the same for powder coating.
BTW it took me 15 minutes to disassemble the alternator.
