porting?

I am looking at getting the large street port done from pineapple racing. I was wondering if they will resurface the housing when the porting is done or if that is extra and if I have to have new housing to have this done. racing beat says they have to have a new housing

It usually depends on the amount of wear on the housing. If it's minor and still lots of life left then you do not need to get a new one. You may need them resurfaced. When Pineapple disassembles the engine, they will be able to let you know and will be happy to show you the housings condition as well.

Racing Beat (and some other shops) require new housings just to make the engines that more reliable and long lasting. Varies shop-to-shop but most do not require it.
