Question Optimum Intake Temp ?

I recently read an article about THE optimum intake temperature being 40 deg C , is there any merit to this ? , does anyone else on the board have any more info. on this ? . I am now modifying my WI system to a twin pump , two stage system to have one nozzle (smaller of two ) operate frome about 2psi up at the turbos suction (help with cooling down the turbo and the intake charge ) and the other come in at high boost of 18 + psi . The second nozzle to be "enabled " based on boost and intake temp. (using the intercooler fan PWM output on the E6K to switch a solenoid valve ) . I previousluy thaught that cooler is better and had planned to set the "Fan On temp " lower than 40degC , now I am not sure , anyone able to point me in the right direction ?.
